"I like what titanium does to the sound. As well as improving sustain, it seems to make the notes "rounder" and "deeper", somehow. The nastier, high harmonics seem to be smoothed out and everything just sounds more "musical".”

After playing in the British jazz-rock band, "If", he joined the tour of BAD COMPANY in 1975. In 1976, he played in Back Street Crawler as a replacement for Paul Kossoff who died suddenly. After that, he has played with The Who and Paul Rodgers, and is currently the guitarist for Procol Harum.

He has a long history with KTS, and many of his Strats, Les Pauls, Teles, and PRSs have been replaced with titanium saddles. The following photos show a '64 Telecaster with the PR-08WD titanium saddle, an ES-335 with the PR-02 TOM saddle, and a PRS with the PR-14 Strat-type saddle.
